26th ETPG Conference – Cracow 2016
ETPG or European Test Publishers Group includes all leading test publishers from all over Europe. Once a year one of the members organizes a 3-days conference whose main goal is to summarize activities of the Group members. It is also an opportunity to inspire new activities and exchange ideas between European test publishers. This year it was the Laboratory which had an honour to organize the event.
The Conference was held on 15-17 May at the oldest of Cracow's hotels – Hotel Pod Różą. Located in the Cracow's Old Town Market the hotel made a tremendous impression on our guests – with its old style architecture, its food and underground conference rooms. The conference host was Joanna Stańczak. We began with an opening speech followed by a lecture by Prof. Joanna Czarniawska on the question of leadership in organizations.
After the lecture it was time for excursion to see Cracow's beautiful monuments. The weather unfortunately was not good and umbrellas were put to use. The excursion ended in Kazimierz district where an open air meal consisting of Polish specialties was served by a food truck called Kuchnia dla Odważnych or Cuisine for the Brave. After the meal we invited our guests for a jazz concert.
The second day opened with a lecture by a legal counsellor Mr. Konrad Buczyło who talked about copyright. This is an important topic for all test publishers. The next few hours were spent for a workshop devoted to brand creation – it was run by Mr. Tristan Tresar, certified trainer and business consultant.
The event planned for the evening was a trip to Wieliczka Salt Mine. After the sightseeing tour we invited our guests to an official dinner in beautiful salt chambers. We did not have to be afraid of rain anymore...
The agenda of the last day of the conference was ETPG internal affairs. After the afternoon meeting it was time for farewell. We hope that our guests will keep good memories of their visit to Cracow.
The next ETPG meeting will take place in Vienna.
