There were many interesting events last weekend. On Friday, February 16 a training conference of the Warsaw Branch of the Polish Psychological Association (PTP) was held together with the Ordinary General Assembly of the Branch. The Laboratory was represented at both events by Urszula Brzezińska and Dr. Emilia Wrocławska-Warchala.

Last week the Laboratory was visited by Oleg Burlachuk the representative of OS Ukraine. Founded in 2007 as a company controlled by Giunti OS International Group it is the first and only test publisher in Ukraine. It already has on its offer Ukrainian versions of major assessment tools including ADOS-2, Leiter-3 or MMPI-2. Like the Laboratory the OS Ukraine is also associate member of ETPG (European Test Publishers Group).

Another meeting of the EFPA Board of Assessement took place in mid-January in Berlin. Poland was represented by Urszula Brzezinska who participated in the meeting on behalf of the Polish Psychological Association. Ms. Brzezińska co-ordinates implementation of the Euro Test-WO certificate in Poland.

COMMENTS OF THE PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS LABORATORY ON “RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ASSESSMENT OF INTELLIGENCE IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS” FORMULATED BY THE NATIONAL CONSULTANT IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY AND ISSUED ON 15 JANUARY 2018. 

An information reached us that during training sessions for employees of counselling institutions the Intelligence and Development Scales (IDS) for children aged 5-10 published by us are said not to measure intelligence and their use in assessing mental disabilities is presented as unethical.

The Laboratory again co-sponsored the event and actively contributed to the sessions and discussions.The 36th Congress of the Polish Psychological Association (PTP) is over. This year's edition entitled  “Psychology ofr Health and Society” was held in Gdansk on 21-24 September. It was co-organized by the Gdansk branch of the PTP and University of Gdansk.

The 15th ECP Congress was held in Amsterdam on 11-14 July 2017. Its guiding theme was “Psychology addressing society's greatest challenges”.

Participants of ECP congresses are psychological associations, publishers, organizations, individual psychologists and other specialists. This is the largest event of this kind in Europe gathering each time more than 2000 participants. The Laboratory was represented by Aleksandra Jaworowska and Joanna Stanczak.

Last week we were visited by Gražina Gintilienė who represented the Department of Psychology at the University of Vilnius. Our co-operation with the University has already lasted for a few years. The University co-ordinated the process of the Lithuania adaptation of Children's Development Scale DSR and two of our colleagues Diana Fecenec and Joanna Stanczak delivered lectures on creation and adaptation of psychological tests, copyright  observance as well as rules for the appropriate selection of diagnostic tools.

The  3rd Cracow Diagnostic Conference – “New Methods for Diagnosing Children and Adolescents” is over. The event was organized by the Cracow Section of the Polish Psychological Association and the Institute of Applied Psychology at the Jagiellonian University.

Last week we were visited by the representatives of the biggest Croatian test publisher Naklada Slap, Krunoslav and Biserka Matešić. Naklada is also a member of the ETPG group. Thanks to magnificent weather the meeting could be followed by the walk in Łazienki Park.
